It all started with a dachshund named Scout...
17 years ago, my family purchased Scout, a smooth dachshund, through the window of a truck in a Hardee’s parking lot. After his passing in 2023, I wanted to buy more ethically. I researched for 3 months, filled out an 11-page application, and attended multiple dog shows to learn and prove my commitment. Despite my efforts, I was ghosted by breeders and ignored at shows.
This experience made me realize a common problem:
Many people end up with the wrong dog because the ethical process is daunting.
